The Chitresh Das Dance Company and Chhandam School of Kathak celebrate National Dance Week with FREE events! Saturday, May 1 Lecture/Demonstration 5:00pm - 6:00pm   “Masculine & Feminine Energies in Kathak Dance”              Ardhanariswara is an ancient concept of Indian civilization representing the synthesis of masculine and feminine energies: Charlotte Moraga, principal dancer of the Chitresh Das Dance Company, will explore this concept through a live demonstration and video examples of one of the world’s foremost Kathak masters, Pandit Chitresh Das Dance Mission Theatre 3316 24th St., San Francisco Sunday, May 2 Kathak Master Class 11:00am - 12:00pm Experience the dynamics of this rhythmic and improvisational art form through footwork, hand movements and storytelling, while gaining insight to the history, philosophy and mathematics of Kathak dance and Indian culture.
